Our Breeding Philosophy
Our herd consists of a core group of naturally raised Nigerian dwarf goats that come from strong performance pedigrees and exhibit consistent, quality milk production. With a focus on diet and holistic husbandry as the key to healthy offspring which bear our Heart's Pasture namesake, our goal is to provide our customers with a kid that has a healthy, vigorous foundation, part of a generation of goats from Heart's Pasture that will be prolific milkers and worthy performers for homesteads all around the country.
Our bucks
A buck is half your herd. Making sure that they are in tip-top shape is essential. We give our bucks some unique special attention throughout the year to ensure that they are able to perform their best. As you view the breeding schedule, please refer to each of our buck's brief introductions below.
Zouk
Zouk is the foundation for our breeding program. We'd like to think that we were lucky to get him. Mild tempered and sweet, consistent and vigorous, with excellent body structure, he thrives at our farm. He has never faltered during the breeding season, and we are excited that he will be entering his peak years with us. The future is bright!

Eminence
Eminence is our young stud with premier potential. It's certainly worth reading about his pedigree in his breed pairings below. He has matured in the past two years and has a successful breeding season under his belt! Looking more and more like a grown up stud, his enviable beard and mane make many a doe swoon here at Heart's Pasture!

4th Freshening
Sicily is a charmer. She is also one of our top milkers. Even when we are drying her off, preparing her body for the next kidding season, she holds strong. For that, she is our most consistent goat in milk. She doesn't quit. A new breeding pair, Sicily had three gorgeous does last year, one of which we kept (hi, Hazel!). The year before she gave the most beautiful golden hued buckling. We are excited to see the kids that come from Sicily and Eminence this year.
Sicily's Pedigree Highlights
Sicily's Dam, GCH Fairland Farm AD Island Girl, is a 1*M and has achieved senior grand champion twice in addition to senior reserve grand champion three times. Her sire, Little Tots Estate Peachy Keen, is a star sire with a *B. Many more star attributes follow her dam and sire, including but not limited to her sire's sire, SG Little Tots Estate Agave, with a ++*B.

Eminence's Pedigree Highlights
Eminence has the strongest pedigree on our farm. He comes from premier, top-shelf genetics with royal lineage and performance throughout. A double Wood Bridge Farm buck, his sire, GCH Wood Bridge Farm Undisputed, was Reserve National Jr. Get-of-Sire in 2018. Undisputed's grand-dam is the 2014 and 2016 Nation Champion Nigerian Dwarf Doe. All of the sire's kids have placed in the top 20 at nationals for the last several year. Each of the last three generations, dam and sire, has attained GCH status, including SGCH Wood Bridge Too Love Potion #9.
His dam has also comes from strong genetics. Her dam, Wood Bridge Farm Ma Cherie, is the mother of the 2018 American Goat Society Junior National Champion. |

1st Freshening
Daisy Baby finally gets her time to shine! We waited one more winter for her to reach her fullest maturity and potential before including her into our breeding program as a first freshener; we are so pleased with the results! There is a lot to like about this pairing with Zouk. Kids will have Wood Bridge Farm and Rosacharn genetics. With exceptional lineage and body structure, we love to think that she will produce kids that are great for the homestead or for the show ring. Very exciting!
Daisy Baby's Pedigree Highlights
Daisy's sire, Wood Bridge Farm Dott Matrix, has achieved reserve grand champion twice and has lineage that consists of Wood Bridge and Old Mountain Farm. He is known for producing high-quality milking goats. Her sire's side of her pedigree consists of many accolades. Her dam, Fairland Farm FC Shasta, comes from quality show lineage.

6th Freshening
Wing is one of our top milkers (and our daughter's favorite goat). She is dependable, produces large amounts of milk for us, and has very nice teats for hand milking. She has an excellent dairy build and a penchant for mothering quads, which she has done twice in the past. This is a repeat pairing from the past few years. We are so happy to be able to pair Wing, our mature doe in her prime, with our spunky, sturdy buck again! Let's hope for four!

Biscotti x Zouk kidded 3 bucklings April 3, 2024
2nd Freshening
We liked Wing so much we decided to also keep one of her kids, Biscotti. Biscotti kidded one beautiful roan colored buckling last year. She was the perfect, attentive, doting mother to him and all the other kids on the farm. For that she earned our "mother of the year" award. Her gentle, nurturing personality is something we love to see in our dams. There is a lot to like about this pairing with Zouk. Strong milk lines in the pedigree make us hopeful for doelings.
Biscotti's Pedigree Highlights
Biscotti's pedigree is heavy Wood Bridge Farm on the sire's side. Her sire includes Wood Bridge Farm Invigorated, with a *B distinction. Grand sire is the well-known GCH Wood Bridge Farm Understated ++*B. Grand dam includes Kitty Branch A Violet Rose 2*M. Biscotti's dam includes our very own Wing Ding. We know from first-hand experience that wing is an excellent milker, with a great dairy build, and an incredible kidder.

3rd Freshening
This is a fantastic repeat pairing. Star's pedigree packs a punch. We love the potential for the kids to have a long, tall body, just like Star, which trends towards having excellent milking production. Star truly blossomed on our farm last year, delivering two beautiful kids and LOTS of milk. We are confident she will earn a milk star this year. Star is also our easiest doe to milk by hand. She is slightly tall, has perfect teats and a calm, gentle disposition. She is the goat we rely on when teaching someone how to milk. Star and Zouk should again produce top-notch kids, making this the best deal on the farm!

Star's sire is Castle Rock Copper Penny *B. Her grand sire and grand dam include the highly touted CRF Castle Rock Harvest Moon ++*B and SGCH AGS CRF Castle Rock Penny Wise 1*M. Kinna x Eminence kidded 1 doeling and 1 buckling April 1, 2024
1st Freshening
Kinna is a first freshener. She is full of spunk and is always ready for a tasty herbal goat treat and some scratches behind her ears. Combining the genetics of these two goats is likely to produce some of our best kids. They share the same sire, GCH Wood Bridge Farm Undisputed. This intentional breeding will focus the amazing genetics of this undisputed goat, providing fantastic body structure to their offspring. Kinna and Eminence may well be our "powerhouse couple" here on the farm.

Aster x Eminence kidded 1 doeling and 2 bucklings May 5, 2024
1st Freshening
Aster is one of our junior does that will freshen for the first time this spring. She is especially beautiful with her frosted ears and shiny black coat. We are excited to see first-hand how she milks this spring! Having GCH Woodbridge Farm Undisputed genetics on both sides means the kids should be undisputed stunners on the homestead or in the show ring. Pairing her with Eminence gives any doelings a lot of potential to be excellent milkers and bucklings should be a real asset to any breeding program.
Aster's Pedigree Highlights
Aster's dam, Honey Sweetie Acres Daenerys, was sired by GCH Wood Bridge Farm Undisputed, making Undisputed her grand-sire. Her grand-sire on her sire's side is Old Mountain Farm Worth Rival. The combination of genetics in Aster lends her the potential to be one of the very best goats here on the farm.

Goat Sales and Reservation Policy
We maintain a reservation list for future kids. This gives you the peace of mind when choosing the kid you want. A reservation is not a commitment; it simply gets you a spot in line. Once a chosen kid is born, a non-refundable deposit will be due. We will work with you on what your options are, as sometimes there may be more than one to choose from. Realize that we can not guarantee to you that a specific doe will conceive or produce the desired sex. If your reservation does not work out, we will do our best to let you know if there are any other available spots in line for other kids. If uncertain what your goals are, we can also work with you on choosing a goat kid from a breeding pair that will fit your needs.
If you are interested in a pet goat and not one for milk or the show ring, we highly recommend buying a neutered male "wether". They make wonderful pets! A buckling can become a wether.
All kids will be available for pickup between 8-12 weeks of age. However, if you are an experienced goat owner, that timeframe could be sooner. Kids that are not picked up as scheduled will be boarded at a rate of $5 per day.
Please note that we reserve the right as owners to retain any animal that we choose.
