AMERICAN GUINEA HOG SOWS

Meet Clover

Fantastic Forager, Marvelous Mother

An American Guinea Hog named Clover forages in the woods.
Joyful Noise Bb Clover is a registered American Guinea Hog. Her dam is JWM Bella, and her sire is JNH AH Baloo, who has Setty and Sullbar in his lineage. She is black with white on her front toes and has red tipped guard hairs. Her hairs reminded us of the red tipped petals of clover, which is what inspires her name.
Clover had her first litter of 7 healthy piglets here at Heart's Pasture Farm. She arrived early in Summer 2021 already pregnant and almost ready to pop! A perfect mom, Clover is attentive to her piglets and gentle with her humans, even when we unknowingly got between her and her newborn litter when they were less than a day old! Since then, Clover has become a seasoned sow and has litters that exceed 12!

When she is not nursing she can be found rooting in the woods or lounging in her cozy Missouri sunlight hog house. The tubers of fiddlehead ferns, fresh green grasses, and any fruit scraps from the kitchen are her favorite foods. Clover enjoys short walks in the woods and a nice shoulder scratch.
