NIGERIAN DWARF GOAT KIDS

Naturally Raised with a Ceaseless Devotion toward Nutrition

Welcome!

Here at Heart's Pasture Farm, we are proud Nigerian Dwarf goat owners. Our herd of goats has always been the heart of our farm. Any day is a good day to smile at their high-spirited, yet gentle personalities, and it's because of them that we always have plentiful amounts of nutritious raw milk and cheese. Each spring we offer future generations of kids that will become the heart of other farms.

Breeding Philosophy

Our herd consists of a core group of naturally raised Nigerian dwarf goats that come from strong performance pedigrees and exhibit consistent, quality milk production. With a focus on diet and husbandry as the key to healthy offspring which bear our Heart's Pasture namesake, our goal is to provide our customers with a kid that has a healthy, vigorous foundation, part of a generation of goats from Heart's Pasture Farm that will be prolific milkers and worthy performers for homesteads all around the country.

Rearing Philosophy

The kids born on our farm are dam raised to around 12 weeks of age. During that time, they have access to as much milk as they want. We are sure to handle the kids daily so that they establish a positive relationship with humans. As they transition from their mother's milk, they are given access to high quality hay and woodland pasture walks which consists of fresh, spring forest browse. Their minerals, offered free choice, consist of free choice kelp mixed with a combination of different organic or wildcrafted herbs. We use a herbal parasite mix that we make into treat balls as standard practice to keep parasites at bay. By the time 12 weeks arrives, they are full of health and ready to make the transition to their new homes.

Goat Sales and Reservation Policy

As noted, we maintain a reservation list for future kids born at Heart's Pasture Farm. It's what gives you, the buyer, peace of mind when choosing the kid(s) you want. A reservation is not a commitment; it simply gets you a spot in line. Once a chosen kid is born, we contact you with updates, and a non-refundable deposit of 50% will be due.

Regarding your choices, we are happy to get to know your goals and work with you on choosing a goat kid from a breeding pair that will best fit your needs. If you need to goal plan, we can strategize together about that as well.

Realize that we can not guarantee to you that a specific doe will conceive or produce the desired sex. For situations such as those, we will do our best to let you know if there are any other available spots in line for other kids.

If you are interested in a pet goat and not one for milk or the show ring, we highly recommend buying a neutered male "wether". They make wonderful pets!

All kids will be available for pickup between 8-12 weeks of age. Kids that are not picked up as scheduled will be boarded at a rate of $5 per day.

Please note that we reserve the right as owners to retain any animal that we choose.
